The 2030 CSGN Delivery Plan (DP30) outlines the Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) Partners’ priorities for the next phase of delivering one of Europe’s biggest green infrastructure projects – covering approximately 10,000 square kilometres and seeking to transform Central Scotland by 2050.
The new Delivery Plan is closely aligned with Scotland’s priorities and commitments on Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss but also highlights the role of the Green Network in delivering a Green Recovery post-COVID – creating attractive, successful and healthy places, reducing environmental inequalities and creating green employment opportunities.
The DP30 framework has been developed by the Green Action Trust in partnership with Scottish Government and the key environmental agencies.
Green Action Trust CEO Derek Robertson said, “The launch of DP30 is an important milestone in the development of the CSGN and a great opportunity for all partners to make significant steps forward on Climate Solutions, Placemaking, Health & Wellbeing and Green Recovery in central Scotland. The Green Action Trust is excited to be working with our partners on the next phase of this hugely ambitious and innovative project.”
A Scottish Government spokesperson said, “Scottish Government has a close and continuing interest in the success of the Central Scotland Green Network, which is reflected in its status within the National Planning Framework, and in broader encouragement and support.”
A new CSGN Partner Group will build on this framework to develop the detail of DP30 – particularly around the development of quantitative and qualitative targets (how much change, where and to what standard) and the Green Action Trust is supporting CSGN partner organisations to develop their plans to embed DP30 into their wider activities.
