Green Action Trust is working with Clackmannanshire Economic Regeneration Trust to develop Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve. This work will focus on bringing together local stakeholders to create a masterplan for the site, which can then be used to progress action on site.
As part of the research phase, we are keen to hear the thoughts of local residents and users of the park. Please complete this survey to provide your feedback before 31 March 2025.
About Gartmorn Dam
Gartmorn Dam Country Park is situated around a reservoir in the centre of Clackmannanshire and provides a range of community benefits, including paths for walking, bird and wildlife watching, and a place to enjoy the outdoors in beautiful surroundings. The path around the edge of the site winds through woodlands and agricultural land, as well as being close to the Dam in places, giving amazing views of the water and the Ochil Hills.
The site is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on the basis of the plant life within the dam. It is also a Local Nature Reserve. Visitor facilities on site include car parking, a coffee shop/café, a sunken garden and a core path network with interpretation and way marker signage.
The Dam is owned by Scottish Water and is managed, on their behalf, by Clackmannanshire Council, led by their Ranger Service. The land around the dam is predominantly in private ownership with multiple landowners.
Survey
The intention of this survey is to gather feedback to better understand how site users feel about the site and its current offering, as well as identifying what the community thinks are priorities for improvement. This information will be used to inform the development of plans for the site.
