The vision for the the Herbertshire Castle Park masterplan is to create ‘a more welcoming, accessible and attractive park for all visitors’.
To help deliver this vision, funding has been secured to create a pump track in an area between ‘The Chilli Hut’ and the play park.
Velosolutions, the company engaged to design and build the pump track, carried out a consultation process in August/September 2022 to gather opinions from potential users on a draft design.
The comments gathered have helped to shape the final design of the pump track. An online presentation took place on Wednesday 26th October to unveil the final design. A recording of the presentation can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/764121785.
The next step in developing the project is to apply for and secure planning permission ahead of construction. Once planning consent is in place, then construction can begin hopefully early in the new year with the pump track ready for use in spring/early summer 2023.
