Large scale partnership
Delivering a vision to plant 18 million trees in both urban and rural parts of Glasgow City Region over the next decade.
About the Clyde Climate Forest
Spanning Glasgow City Region from Greenock to Lanark, the Clyde Climate Forest (CCF) brings together a range of partners who aim to transform the environment of Glasgow City Region for the benefit of people and wildlife.
The aim is to plant 18 million trees over a decade, targeting the right trees in the right places to help nature recover and thrive, to protect and mitigate against climate change, and to create an ecologically secure environment for future generations.

What is being achieved
The Clyde Climate Forest is delivering multiple outcomes across the Glasgow City Region. These tie into our environmental solutions across these key areas:
Creating 9,000 hectares of new woodland and forests.
The programme aims to connect 200 woodland habitats across the region.
Up to 1.5 million new trees planted with local communities in urban areas.
The Green Action Trust is a leading partner for the management and delivery of the Clyde Climate Forest. Working with dedicated staff from partner organisations, we provide the Director and Programme Manager to the wider CCF team.
We champion and promote the CCF initiative and engage with communities and landowners for strategic tree planting within the Glasgow City Region.
The Trust not only directly manages the CCF but also contributes to the delivery of the CCF vision. This is achieved through direct project development and delivery and coordinating action across the wide range of partners dedicated to delivering the CCF.
