Karen joined our senior team in late 2023. Karen is a Chartered Landscape Architect who brings to the Trust over 30 years’ experience gained across corporate, private sector and local authority. She has worked on project delivery and development at various scales and complexity including Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, greenspace strategies, placemaking, nature-based solutions and active travel.

Karen is enthusiastic about the delivery of sustainable solutions for placemaking and blue-green infrastructure with a focus on climate resilience. Underpinning all of her work is a commitment to work in a collaborative and inclusive manner.

Karen began her studies at Edinburgh College of Art and gained a Grad Dip and BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture from the University of Leeds. She has been a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute since 2001.

In her role as Director of Operations, Karen works with service delivery teams to deliver projects on the ground. Karen is on the senior leadership team with a focus on management, business development and operations.
